~ To identify the historic ​sites, buildings and objects that exist in the township and surrounds of Beechworth
​​~ To advocate for the preservation and promotion of these features as part of our current and future cultural and tourism industry
~ To ensure that these significant historical assets are protected for future generations of Australians

~ Develop strategies to work with community members, Indigo Shire and government departments for the preservation and promotion of our historic assets
~ Make recommendations that develop historic sites, buildings and objects into cultural and tourism economy assets
​~ Effectively lobby governments at all levels to ensure adequate recognition of heritage and heritage tourism
~ Build membership to gain community strength and support
